Virginia S. Munn

Virginia S. Munn, 91, of Homewood at Martinsburg, formerly of Wehnwood, Altoona, went to be with the Lord Sunday at the home. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, a daughter of the late William Houck Swan and Evelyn (Clevenger) Swan. She married James O. Munn on May 28, 1955, at Broad Avenue Presbyterian Church. He preceded her in death on May 3, 1995. Surviving is one son: William G. Munn, of New York City; one daughter: Jennifer M. Wright and husband, Jeffrey, of Altoona; one nephew: William H. Swan, III; two nieces: Barbara Graves and Virginia Hammond; and her special friend and caregiver, Kim Gailey. She was preceded in death by three brothers: William H. Swan, Jr, Norman Harvey and Elwood Harvey; and a nephew: Alan Swan. She was a 1942 graduate of Altoona High School and was a member of Mardorf United Methodist Church, Juniata Gap, Altoona. Friends will be received from 5-8 PM Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at Mauk and Yates Funeral Home, Inc., where a funeral service will be held at 10am Wednesday, December 31, 2014, with Rev. Kenneth Beichler, officiating. Interment at Alto Reste Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Mardorf United Methodist Church.
