Alberta L. Hippo

Alberta L. Hippo, 83, Altoona, passed away early Thursday morning at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Roland and Olive (Shaffer) Winter. She married Ernest L. Hippo on December 23, 1950, who preceded her in death on April 3, 2013. Alberta is survived by one son, Timothy E. Hippo and wife Sherry of NC; one stepson, William Woomer and wife Carrie of Pittsburgh, one sister, Annabelle Buchanan of Tyrone, one daughter-in-law, Susan Hippo of Altoona, one son-in-law, James Rider or Mechanicsburg, four grandchildren: Brandon Rider and wife Jamie, Nichole Cekovich and husband Jeff, Jessica Hippo and fiancé Brian Shook, and Adam Hippo and wife Lauren, and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Rider and a son, Jeffrey Hippo. Alberta retired as a seamstress from Warnaco. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and bingo and loved her children and grandchildren dearly. A private family service was held. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery.
