Darlene D. Johnson

Darlene D. Johnson, 72, Altoona, died Thursday afternoon at UPMC-Altoona. She was born in Altoona, a daughter of the late Charles and Mildred (Shope) Steinbeiser. She married Carey E. Johnson on July 13, 1968, in Williamsburg. Surviving are her husband, Carey; four children: Randy Hoover(Lee Ann) of Orrstown, Michael Almond(Lori) of Saxton, Cheri Brown(Steve Mykut) of Broad Top, and Kenneth Johnson(Lynn) of Altoona; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one brother, Rodney Steinbeiser(Dorothy) of Hilton Head. Darlene enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time at the beach. She graduated from Altoona High School and attended Greater Altoona Career and Technology Center. She was of the Methodist faith. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, Sunday, April 19, 2015, at Mauk and Yates Funeral Home, Inc., where a funeral service will be held at 11 AM Monday, April 20, 2015, with Reverend Carol Gathagan officiating.
