Walter G. DeArmitt

Walter G. DeArmitt, 86, Tyrone, passed away early Monday morning at Golden LivingCenter-Hillview. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Frank and Mary DeArmitt. He married Martha Jean Wolfe in Altoona, who preceded him in death on July 6, 2010. He is survived by two daughters: Trudy Benson and husband Ed of Altoona and Sue Houck and husband Harry of Altoona; three sons: Andrew and wife Patty of Altoona, Walter of Huntingdon, and Bob and fiancé Georgie of Tyrone; eight grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one sister, Gloria; and one brother, Charles. He was preceded in death by siblings: Dorothy, Bob, and Bill. Walter enjoyed fishing and hunting and worked alongside his son, Bob, at DeArmitt Air Conditioning and Heating. Friends will be received from 10 AM until the noon funeral service, Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Mauk and Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Juniata, with Harry Houck and Pastor John Collins officiating. Interment at Blair Memorial Park.
