Richard Allen Boyles, Sr.

Richard Allen Boyles Sr., 59, Altoona, died Monday.
He was born in Altoona, the cherished first son born to Patty L. Boyles and the late Marvin S. Boyles.
Surviving are a son, Richard A. Jr.; his beloved mother; two brothers: Stephen J. and Timothy W., both of Altoona; two nieces: Brittany Boyles and Shanon Boyles, both of Altoona; and a nephew John Boyles, currently serving on active duty in the U.S. Air Force.
Richard was a 1975 graduate of Altoona Area High School.
He lived a life of giving to and helping others. He retired from Altoona Hospital after 28 years of service to the facility, but mostly to its patients, whom he treated with kindness and compassion as if they were his own ill family members.
The family will hold a private service.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Greenwood United Methodist Church, 1505 E. Walton Ave., Altoona, PA 16602.
