Genevieve Emma Stahl

Genevieve Emma Stahl, 93, Altoona, passed away Sunday morning at Graystone Manor.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Charles Clayton and Rose Emma (Alexander) Kerstetter. She married Charles Emory Stahl in 1941 at her home in Juniata. He preceded her in death on July 21, 1963.
Genevieve is survived by three children: Barbara Cassidy and husband Cameron of Lake Wales, FL, Sherri Mannion and husband John of Tyrone, and Robert Stahl and wife Karen of Coraopolis; six grandchildren: Scott, Janine, Bryan, Denise, Johnny, and Jessica; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the youngest of six children and was preceded in death by her older siblings, Raymond, Mabel, and Woodrow Kerstetter, Ina Marks, and Pearl Filer.
Genevieve was a 1940 graduate of Altoona High School and worked as a cashier for Riverside. She later retired from Hills Department Store.
She attended Mardorf Methodist Church and enjoyed dancing, bowling, and spending time her grandchildren.
Friends will be received Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 11 until the 1 p.m. funeral service at Mauk and Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Juniata with Pastor Jim House officiating. Interment at Grandview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Central PA Humane Society, 1837 E Pleasant Valley View Blvd, Altoona, PA 16602.
