Michael Peter Melotti

December 29, 1955 — February 15, 2016

Michael Peter Melotti, 60, Altoona, passed away Monday evening at UPMC Altoona.

He was born in Johnstown, son of the late Domenic J. and Dora Rose (Glenn) Melotti. He married Adella M. Cozza on April 17, 1991 in Las Vegas, NV.

In addition to his wife of 24 years, he is survived by two brothers: Robert and wife Flo, of Jacksonville, FL and Chris and wife Molly, of Eugene, OR; a sister Tina Melotti and partner Lynn Cole, of Pittsburgh; two nieces: Mya Cole and Amanda Brandle; an uncle, Pete Melotti and wife Mamie, of Pittsburgh; and two cousins: Nicole, of Pittsburg and Michele, of Maryland.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Laurie Melotti.

Michael was a 1976 graduate of Mount Aloysius College with an Associate’s Degree in Criminology. After 20 years of service, he retired from FCI Loretta as a Federal Correctional Officer. He was a lifetime member of the Blair County Sportsman Club and a member of the NRA.

A mass will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 900 N 4^th Street, Altoona, 16601. Msgr. Michael E. Servinsky officiating.
