Sara E. Koller

Sara E. Koller, 81, Altoona, went to be with the Lord late Sunday evening at Garvey Manor.
 
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Robert W. and Evelyn F. (Boyles) Luke. She married Walter L. Koller July 6, 1955 in Winchester, VA by Rev. William Eisenberg. He preceded her in death August 10, 2010.
 
Sara is survived by four children: Tracy L. England and husband Craig of Altoona, Bruce Koller and close friend Connie Cottle of Altoona, Vickie A. Knisely and husband Kenneth “Jake” of East Freedom, and Christine F. Koller of Altoona; grandchildren: Rob, Eric (Amie), Kaylee (Doug), Nicole (Duane), Erin (Nathan), Kenneth (Crystal), Troy (Chelsea), and Shawn; 8 great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley (Luke) McCall (Robert) of Indiana; a brother, Melvin Luke (Patricia) of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.
 
She was preceded in death by sister-in-law, Paula Luke, and a special uncle and aunt, Milton and Jennie Dotzler.
 
Sara was an Altoona High School graduate. She was employed by Vincent Horwitz, Uni-Mart, K-Mart, and retired from the Altoona Area School District as a Crossing Guard in 2012 after 42 years of service.
 
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Juniata Fellowship Committee. She enjoyed camping, cooking, bowling, and was an avid sports fan.
 
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Mauk and Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Altoona. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 408 N 6th Street, Altoona, 16601 with Pastor Elizabeth Hess officiating. A luncheon will be held immediately following the service at the Trinity Fellowship Hall. Interment at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
