Margaret R. Rutherford

Margaret R. Rutherford, 72, Altoona, passed away late Thursday evening at UPMC Altoona.
She was born in Altoona, a daughter of the late James C. and Louisea (Figart) Henry. She married Fred C. Rutherford, June 30, 1973 in Altoona. He preceded her in death on June 15, 2011.
Margaret is survived by seven children: Margaret “Peggy” Stuckey (Oscar) of Altoona, Cheryl Simmers of Glasgow, Tonya Phillips of Indiana, Melissa Pratt (Russel) of Altoona, Donald Shaffer, Jr. (Louise) of Altoona, Tonya Whetstine (Rick) of Altoona, and Brandon. Rutherford of Altoona; 23 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and three brothers, John A. Henry of Northeast, PA, Thomas Henry of Nevada, and Fred Smith of Altoona.
She was preceded in death by three siblings: James Henry, Jr., Donald E. Henry, Sr., and Ellen Arey.
Margaret worked as a personal care aide for many years. She enjoyed bingo.
Friends will be received, Tuesday, November 15, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Altoona, where a funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 11 a.m. Interment at Carson Valley Cemetery, Duncansville.
