John Warren Manley

John Warren Manley, 92, of Cape Carteret, formerly of Altoona, PA, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Crystal Coast Hospice House.

Services will be held 1:00 pm Monday, November 21, 2016 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home in Altoona, PA . Interment will be held at Asbury Cemetery in Altoona, PA.

John was a World War II Army Veteran with the Blackhawk Infantry Division. He graduated from Shippensburg University in 1950. He worked for Pennsylvania Railroad, then he worked with the Altoona area Vocational School where he taught computer programming.

He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Joyce Manley of the home; daughters, Cynde Ashburn, Christine Pipetti, Nancy Dumm and husband David, and Donna Curfman and husband Jeff; son, Tim Manley and wife Sherry; step-son, Ron Lewis and wife Jean; sisters, Dorothy Hainley, Rae Baker, and Margie Ickes; grandchildren, Matthew Pipetti, Rachel Fogal and husband Darean, Sarah Pipetti, Katrina Pipetti and husband Weston Boyer, Brian Clair, Mike Clair, Haley Curfman, Emily Curfman, John Tyler Manley, Cole Jordan Manley, Trevor Manley, and Kaylynn Manley; two step-grandchildren, Michael Lewis and Nicole Lewis; and great-grandchildren, Max and Liam.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Margaret Manley.

Friends will be received from noon until the 1pm funeral service, Monday, November 21, 2016, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home where there will be military honors.
