Doris M. (Watson) (Snyder) Focht, 87, Altoona, passed away early Thursday morning at the Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg.
She was born in Altoona, a daughter of the late Russell and Viola (Irvin) Watson. In 1948, she first married George S. Snyder. He preceded her in death on June 9, 1975. On December 20, 1980, she married James L. Focht.
In addition to her husband, James, of 36 years, she is survived by a son: John Mark Snyder (Linda) of Altoona; a daughter: Cindy Lou Jones of Arizona; a daughter-in-law: Cheryl Snyder six grandchildren: Robert Jones, Sean Jones, Justin Snyder, Amanda Hallam, Kathleen Snyder, and Jonathan Snyder; nine great grandchildren; two step-children: Larry Focht (Sandy) of Altoona and Debbra Blazer (Lee) of Altoona; six step-grandchildren: James Focht, Lisa Kyle, Andrew Focht, Heather Long, Joshua Blazer, and Jeremiah Blazer; 14 step-great grandchildren; two sisters: Darlene Fetter and Mary Lou Martin; and sister-in-law’s: Beverly Watson, Sue Watson, and Barb Watson.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jacob Snyder; three brothers: Russell Watson, John (Jack) Watson, and George Watson; a sister, Betty Foor; and a grandson, Jason Snyder.
Doris was a 1948 graduate of Altoona High School. She worked at the Altoona Hospital as a nurse’s aide for 12 years and at Gardner’s Candy Store for 14 years. She attended Faith Bible Church.
Friends will be received from 2 until the 4 p.m. funeral service on Monday, December 26, 2016 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Altoona, 16601. Pastor Ben Hoover will be officiating. Interment at Yellow Springs Cemetery, Williamsburg, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Blair County Unit, 1004 N Juniata Street, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
