James Edwin Martin, III

James Edwin Martin, III, 37, of Hagerstown, MD, formerly of Clearfield, PA passed away Wednesday, in Hagerstown, MD.
 
He was born in Clearfield, a son of James E., Jr. and Deborah A. (Harshberger) Martin. On August 25, 2007, he married Kayse Rae Fisher of Wingate, PA.
 
In addition to his wife, Kayse, of 9 years, he is survived by his parents, James and Deborah Martin of Clearfield; his children: Paxton and Juniper Martin of Hagerstown; a beloved twin brother, Justin Martin and wife Jenny of Pittsburgh; a sister, Jennifer Martin and her husband Zach Long of Beavercreek, OH; nieces and nephews: Joshua, Justin Jr., and Emma Martin and Vesper Darconte; his in-laws, Tom and Nancy Fisher; brother and sister in-laws: Josh Fisher, Robert Darconte, and Alyson Darconte; maternal grandparents, John and Ann Harshberger of Duncansville; an aunt, Linda Cramer and her husband John of Hollidaysburg; and his beloved pugs: Max, Mogwai, and Big-T.
 
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: James E., Sr. and Betty Martin.
 
James graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh Johnstown and worked for MedImmune, now AztraZeneca, as a Quality Assurance Specialist.
 
He was a member of the Steelers Fan Club and enjoyed Pittsburgh sports, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Penguins.  He was an avid music fan and especially enjoyed Pearl Jam, Radiohead, and Coldplay. He enjoyed playing video games with his son, brother, and friends. James enjoyed making and drinking craft beers as well.
 
James was a dedicated family man and a loyal friend. His family would most importantly like him to be remembered as loving, kind, funny, intelligent, creative, adventurous, positive, and hard working. He was a wonderful father and the best husband. He was a wonderful son and caring towards his parents.
 
James’ family was highly involved in the Mid Atlantic Pug Rescue where they rescued and fostered pugs.
 
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2016 and from 10 until noon, Wednesday, December 28, 2016 with funeral services immediately following the visitation at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Altoona, 16602. Interment at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
