Donald Lee Allison

Donald Lee Allison, 87, died Sunday afternoon at UPMC-Altoona.

He was born in Philipsburg, the son of the late John and Esther (Mansell) Allison.  He married Rose Marie Thomas on October 16, 1948, in Winchester, VA.

Surviving are his wife of more than 68 years, two daughters:Linda Savino (Anthony) of Tyrone, Bonnie Sue Harpster (Phillip), of Altoona; three sons: Michael David (Sherry), Richard Alan, and Gary Joseph, all of Altoona; 17 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; two sisters: Sara Housley, of Altoona and Betty Styles, of Puyallup, WA; and one brother, Robert Allison of Syracuse, NY.

He was preceded in death by a son, Donald, Jr.

He retired from Barr’s Electric doing auto repair and prior to that he worked at the A & P Warehouse.  He was a member of Western PA Teamsters Union.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, January 12, 2017.  Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Twp.
