Andy D Dick

October 8, 1978 — October 2, 2017

Andrew David Dick, 38, Altoona, was taken home to be with the Lord on Monday. As Andy struggled with both depression and addiction that altered his adult life in a myriad of heart breaking ways, he also persevered and battled fiercely, always holding out hope that he would overcome by God’s grace. Though to some, it may appear he lost this battle, ultimately it was won in the end for all eternity through his relationship with his Savior Jesus Christ. And because of this we look forward to reuniting with him.

Andy had many hobbies and enjoyed woodcarving taught to him by his grandfather. He received many ribbons of recognition for his work. Andy was also a physical fitness buff often found in the gym lifting weights. In his younger days he enjoyed baseball, swimming, wrestling, and especially those neighborhood football games with a roundup of neighborhood friends, brothers and cousins on Sunday afternoons. Also in his younger years, he received the highest award given in AWANA for Scripture memorization called the Timothy Award.

Andy is survived by his mother Penny Fabri of Altoona, his father Randy and step-mother Tammy Dick of Altoona; his brother and sister-in-law Daniel and Lila Dick, his niece Celia of Newington, CN; his brother and sister-in-law Mathew and Mary Lepore of Lutz, FL; and his brother Gabriel Dick also of Altoona. He is also survived by his grandparents David and Joyce Lepore, and Robert and Joanne Dick, all of Altoona; as well as the many relationships he shared with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Andy will be sadly missed by us all and especially his longtime dear friend and girlfriend Erin Feathers of Altoona.

Friends and family will be welcomed at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., from 5-7 PM on Friday, October 6, 2017, and from 9 AM until 10 AM Saturday, October 7, 2017 with the funeral service beginning at 10 AM. Interment at Grandview Cemetery.
