William Richard Ross

William Richard "Dick" Ross, 88, New Port Ritchey, Florida, formerly of Altoona, died Wednesday morning at the Heather Hill Health Care Center in New Port Ritchey, Florida.

                He was born in Altoona, a son of the late William Martin and Linnie Pearl (Moyer) Ross.  He married Janet L. White on February 26, 1966, in Williamsport, PA.

                Dick is survived by his wife, Janet, a daughter, Deborah J. Ross of North Ft. Myers FL, three sons, Michael Ross of Altoona, Richard Ross of Greencastle, James Ross of Philadelphia, step-daughter, Suzanne Jacobs of New Port Ritchey, FL, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren a sister, Maxine Ross of Homers Gap, and a step-brother, Ronald Yeager of Altoona.  He was preceded in death by a son, William Robert Ross and a sister, Marian Ross .

                Mr. Ross was a member of the Living Word Church in New Port Ritchey, FL.  He retired from in 1985 from US Steel where he worked in maintenance. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

                His hobbies included hunting and fishing.

                Friends will be received on Saturday, December 30, 2017, from 1 PM until the 4 PM funeral service at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc. Interment at Grandview Cemetery.
