Irene M Mitchell

Irene M. Mitchell, 75, Altoona, passed away Thursday afternoon at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Hastings, PA, daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (McIlwaine) Stislow. She married William J. Mitchell, who preceded her in death in December, 1975.

Surviving are her children: Regina Becker, Debbie Quinn, Patricia McIntyre, Gregory Mickley, BillieJo Mickley, and William J. Mitchell, Jr.; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers; and John Polisky her companion of 35 years. She was preceded in death by her sister Joan and her brother Gordon.

Irene was a homemaker. She was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School, and enjoyed travelling, cooking and baking, and especially spending time with her children, grandchildren, and friends.

Friends will be received from 3-7 PM, Monday, February 5, 2018, where a funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 AM. Interment at Bakerton United Methodist Cemetery.
