Jeanette Beck

February 24, 1930 - February 6, 2018

Jeanette S. Beck, 87, Altoona, died Tuesday afternoon at UMPC Altoona following a brief illness.

She was born at Loop Station, Hollidaysburg, daughter of Lloyd A. and Margaret (Cunningham) Smith. On June 7, 1952, she married Kenneth L. Beck at Hollidaysburg. He preceded her in death in June 1999.

Surviving are a daughter, Elaine (Tim) Loupe of Altoona; a son, David (Kevin) Beck; two granddaughters, Jessica (Pat) McKinney of Altoona, and Jenna (Kenny) Dodson of Lititz; a grandson, Timothy D. Loupe of Altoona; and great-grandchildren, Alana, Hannah, and Connor.

She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters.

Jeanette graduated in 1948 from Hollidaysburg High School. She worked at Penn Furniture and in the Altoona City Clerk’s office. She was a member of the  First Church of Christ, Altoona, and Chim Rocks Squares. She enjoyed Bible study and spending time with family, fellow square dancers, and many other friends.

Friends will be received from 4-7 PM Friday, February 9, 2018, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., and from 10 AM until the 10:30 AM funeral service Saturday, February 10, 2018, at First Church of Christ, Juniata Gap, with Pastor John Collins, officiating. Interment at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
