Clair L. Mowery

Clair L. Mowery, 72, Altoona, passed away early Tuesday morning at the Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg.
He was born in Altoona, a son of the late Linden and Helen Mowery.
He is survived by a son, Brian Mowery and wife Janet of Altoona; a grandson, Ty Mowery; a sister, Helen Young of Maryland; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three step brothers: Ed, Bill, and Jim Mowery.
Clair was a 1964 graduate of Altoona High School. He worked as a Machine Operator at Penn Jacobson until they closed in the late 90’s. He then worked as a Delivery Driver for Napa Auto Parts until retirement in 2012. He enjoyed attending car shows with his grandson, Ty and spending time with his dog, Ginger.
Clair served faithfully and honorably as a Staff Sergeant (E6), and was retired from the United States Army on December 24, 2005.
Friends will be received from 2 until the 3 p.m. Memorial Service on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Wehnwood United Methodist Church, 2511 Juniata Gap Road, Altoona, 16601. Rev. Ray Kovach officiating. Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
