William H. “Bill” Coley, 93, Altoona, formerly of Pinecroft, passed away Thursday evening at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home.
He was born in Juniata, a son of the late William E. and Mabel F. (James) Coley. He first married Jean E. Deeter on February 9, 1944 in Winchester, VA. She preceded him in death on October 31, 2002. He then married Bertie McGregor on May 16, 2003 in Altoona.
He is survived by his wife, Bertie M. McCoy of Altoona; a daughter, Dorothy J. Shiffler and husband David of Williamsville, NY; a grandson, Greg Shiffler of Williamsville, NY; and two granddaughters: Tammy St. Germaine of Sterling Heights, MI and Amy Eberhardt of Williamsville, NY; seven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill was a member of Riggles Gap Bible Church and he also attended First Baptist Church in Altoona. He retired as manager of the Altoona Skating Center on May 1, 1986.
He was a WW2 veteran of the U.S. Navy.
At the request of the deceased, no public services will be held. Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township.
