Edward J. Dietzel, 63, Altoona, died unexpectedly Sunday morning at his home after a brief illness.
He was born in Altoona, a son of Edward W. and Shirley M. (Hartman) Dietzel.
Edward is survived by two sons: Brian E. Dietzel of Altoona and David W. Dietzel of Pittsburgh; a daughter, Kathleen M. Bickford of Ebensburg; five grandchildren: Addison, Aubrey, Averee, John, and Geneveve; and three brothers: Terry J. Dietzel and Gary J. Dietzel, both of Altoona, and Larry B. Dietzel of Bellwood.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael A. Dietzel and a brother, Jerry. R. Dietzel.
Edward was a 1972 graduate of Altoona High School. He retired as a machinist from Norfolk Southern. He enjoyed bowling and was an avid Steelers fan.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. until the 7 p.m. memorial service on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Juniata, with Pastor Peggy Bonsell, officiating.
