Gordon H Smith, Sr.

Gordon H. “Bill” Smith, Sr., 90, Duncansville, passed away Friday, August 17, 2018, at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Bartholomew, Indiana, son of the late George H. and Mary T. (Wade) Smith. He married Barbara Jean Tressler, who preceded him in death. Surviving is her daughter Kelty Smith (Donald) of Nichols, SC, a son Gordon H. Smith, Jr. (Sandy) of Altoona, a son Barry J. Smith (Charleen) of Jacksonville, FL,; 5 grandchildren: Jennifer Mauk of Bellwood, Lena Dell of Altoona, Rachele Campbell (Scott) of MD, Scott Smith of FL, and Amber Smith of Altoona; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild. He was preceded by one son, Timothy A. Smith.

Gordon retired from the U.S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer, Machinist Mate. He had attended the Apostolilc Brethren Church in Gahanna, Ohio, and enjoyed building things, where he could work with his hands.
