Louise McConnell, 91, Elizabethtown, formerly of Altoona for the majority of her life, passed away early Saturday at Elizabethtown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Osceola Mills, PA, daughter of the late Arthur and Myra (Reese) Arnold. She married Kenneth McConnell February 23, 1946 in Altoona; he preceded her in death in 1990 after 44 years of marriage.
She is survived by her daughter Barbara L. Fausnacht and her husband Michael of Elizabethtown, her son David P. McConnell of Altoona, her grandchildren Sean McConnell, Andrew Fausnacht, Jennifer Fausnacht, Katie McConnnell, and Alicia Wilson, her great grandchildren Paige Beagle and Beckett Fausnacht, and her brother Dennis Arnold of Philipsburg.
She was preceded in death by her son Daryl McConnell, her grandson John McConnell, her brothers Boyd and Donald Arnold, and her sister Shirley Bezilla.
Louise retired from Saf-T-Bak as a tacker machine operator. She was a graduate of Osceola Mills High School, and was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, having attended the First United Methodist and East End Methodist Churches in Altoona. She enjoyed pinochle, and over the years had many cats, which she loved dearly. She was an excellent cook, and was known for her homemade sticky buns and pumpkin rolls which she lovingly gave to her family, friends, and neighbors. She loved music, liked to dance, and enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Friends will be received from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral service Friday, October 5, 2018, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., with Pastor Jason Mauk, officiating. Interment at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
