Sara Jean Housley

Sara J. (Allison) Housley, 84, of Altoona, died, December 8, 2018, after an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late John and Esther (Mansell) Allison.

She graduated from Altoona Area High School in 1951. She was employed by the Altoona Area School District and retired in 1992 after 22 years of service. Sara was a member of the Wehnwood United Methodist Church. In her past time, she enjoyed bowling, crafts, reading, gardening, and spending time with her family.

Her husband, Ralph S. Housley, Jr. (Sam), preceded her in death on August 6, 2014, after sharing 62 years of marriage together. She is survived by two children: Janine Hawk and husband Dan, of Centre Hall and Robert Housley and wife Robin of Dysart; and four grandchildren: Aaron and Jennifer Hawk and David and Bryan Housley. Also surviving is a sister, Betty Styles of Puyallup, Washington. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Allison and Donald Allison.

Friends will be received 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Mauk and Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Juniata. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, December 13, at Wehnwood United Methodist Church, 2511 Juniata Gap Rd, Altoona with the Reverend Evelyn Madison officiating. Interment will be mad at Alto Reste Cemetery.
